Award winning Catch a Wave®UK cic is the first Watersports and Complementary Therapies Social Enterprise in the UK, encouraging those who wouldn't normally have the opportunity, to use the ocean and nature as a way of improving their Health and WellBeing. Focusing our work primarily around supporting vulnerable people, … and those who may feel 'too old, too unhealthy, too over weight, too busy', to access opportunities like Watersports, Outdoor Activities, Complementary Therapies, providing more choice and accessibility for all, and increasing sales and profits for the enterprise, community and environment. Catch a Wave®UK cic is of course open to all!

At Catch a Wave®UK cic a complementary approach to Health Care is offered, a non-drug treatment working on many different health conditions. The aim is to inspire people to benefit from the healing and positive qualities of our lovely beaches, the sea and nature …to take responsibility for their own health. Water Sports and Outdoor Activities are taught in a professional, fun and safe way to those who may not otherwise be able to partake in, or be open to this form of exercise; Complementary Therapies are also available to offer a holistic approach. For example, these include activities such as:

~Canoeing ~Foraging ~Sailing ~Dolphin trips ~Pilates ~Beach Cleans ~Surfing ~Archery ~Tai Chi ~Yoga ~Life Coaching ~Shiatsu ~Acupuncture ~Creativity in Nature

Have you ever felt that you're not 'cool' enough to be seen in a wetsuit? Perhaps you've felt 'too old, unhealthy, overweight' or maybe you feel you can't fit a fitness regime into your busy schedule?

Then  Catch a Wave®UK cic is for you!! Our Team of Male/Female qualified Watersports Instructors (CRB checked) will work with you in a friendly, professional and empathic way to support you as you make your journey towards catching waves and experiencing Watersports.

Have you ever experienced depression, stress or anxiety? Perhaps you've been through a life trauma of some kind, such as homelessness, poverty, domestic violence, or are recovering from alcohol and drug misuse?  Watersports can be such an amazing resource for healing ... even just being in the water alone, can be such a healing process. If you have a specific request for a Female Instructor, we can organize this for you.

Catch a Wave®UK cic has been established as a unique pioneering Social Enterprise and Community Interest Company, as the Directors saw there was a need for a not for profit organisation in Water Sports and Complementary Therapies in the area, pouring any profits made back into the Community and Environment, and into the successful running of the enterprise. With two voluntary Directors and a Team of other volunteers, Catch a Wave®UK cic has already begun to make a difference in the community and beyond, and were out and about at various Events this year including Relentless Boardmasters, and at their own event The Big Beach Experience (TM), see: www.bigbeachexperience.com giving the local community a chance to find out more about their work and to have a chat with all involved.

Catch a Wave®UK cic has far exceeded expectations in this first year! Since May 2010, we've exhibited at seven main events in the SW, including Boardmasters and The Blue Mile … We were the only Watersports Social Enterprise at Boardmasters last year. The RSA nominated our MD, Anne Harrington, as a Fellow due to her work raising awareness of Social Enterprise, and Health and WellBeing, and She also won an Unltd Millenium Award for her concept of Catch a Wave®UK cic. We won The Flybe Cornwall Travel Bursary Award, and have been awarded the ILCM Level 2 quality mark, and we are included in the SE100 Index report! Anne has also been voted Virgin Media Pioneer of the week/Month this year.
